They told me nothing but a broom was left in the apartment. I called about a week later to alert them and check to see if it had already been removed from the apartment. When I moved out, I accidentally left some artwork and ALL my family pictures in an upstairs closet. The office just tells you to file a police report, I'm sure they get people coming everyday with stolen bikes. You ask, how do they get in those locked hallways? Someone is always leaving the gates open with a rock, etc. They have no camera's in the locked hallways, so people just keep coming back and taking everyones bikes. Over and over again, this property has been hit with theft. If you own a bike, DO NOT leave it on their racks, it will get stolen (mine did). Not a whole lot the complex can do, but thought I'd point that out if you have a lot of friends coming over. Everyone from the arena parks over on the island to avoid paying to park, including their employees. Now on to the area's of improvement: guest parking is pretty hard to come by. The complex was just bought by MAA, so I'm sure some changes are coming. Also, the location is awesome, I used to bike everywhere downtown (before it was stolen here). The office was kind and understanding and removed the late fee. I once paid my rent at 4-5 hours late (I was on a cruise), I was hit with a $150 late fee. They keep the area very clean, always see them picking things up etc. I sometimes find myself just looking out the window for hours. I live on the top floor facing the water, the views are out of this world. I've lived on the property for almost a year now. We've lived in much nicer apartments in places with just as good locations. I'd say live here for the location, it's really not THAT bad, but it's not really a place I'd recommend unless you're a young college student. ![]() It's also really loud here for some reason. The best part about this place is the maintenance guy, he's really quick and really helpful. Parking is not abundant because you share a parking deck with the Grand View residents and basically 50-75% of the spots are reserved. We even found a wheelchair in front of our storage unit covered in vomit a few days ago which was a pleasant surprise. There's a group of kids that smoke pot outside at my pool almost every day (not a huge deal but they're rather annoying when they rap and start trying to talk to me when I'm trying to enjoy myself/work on my balcony). They are all over the place and I've found that they're rather destructive. I heard they used to not allow college kids, but now they do and we can tell. They're rude, snarky and mostly passive-aggressive. I've lived in plenty of apartment complexes where they're helpful, compliant and accommodating, but not here. The sidewalks are covered in it and we even found some in our stairwell yesterday. There is absolutely no upkeep on this place and there is dog poop EVERYWHERE. Why you wouldn't want to take a little extra of our money? I have no idea, but now they're not going to get it. The storage unit still hasn't been cleared and it's MAY. ![]() We have been trying to get an extra storage unit since we moved here in January - the storage unit available says it needs to be evacuated with a note taped on it, so we followed up on it, no one ever answered us or followed up. Nothing to pay the price that we pay for it. We got stuck with one that wasn't entirely renovated and it's just ok. I loved the location, and I still do, but only SOME of their apartments are renovated, not all of them. We moved here from out of state without checking out the place because we had to move quickly and didn't have time to come apartment hunting. ![]() Lots to do in the area and almost everything is walking/biking distance. I'm only giving this place two stars because there was plenty of space and the location was clutch.
